LOS FUTBOLISTAS CONTAGIADOS DE COVID-19 EN LA COPA AMÉRICA PODRÁN SER REEMPLAZADOS SIN LÍMITES
Los futbolistas que resulten contagiados de coronavirus o deban permanecer aislados por un contacto estrecho durante la Copa América Brasil 2021 podrán ser reemplazados sin límites en las listas de buena fe de los seleccionados participantes, anunció hoy la Conmebol.
La entidad rectora del fútbol sudamericano modificó el artículo 30.1 del Reglamento de la Copa América 2021 referido a la sustitución de jugadores por Covid-19, lo que elimina cualquier restricción en ese sentido.
«Antes que inicie la competición o durante el inicio de la misma, atendiendo a la situación de pandemia en la cual se desarrolla el torneo, se podrá permitir la sustitución de jugadores (sin limitaciones), incluidos en la Lista Definitiva de Jugadores, cuya prueba PCR realizada por la Conmebol arrojara un resultado positivo de Covid-19 y/o que fueran considerados como ‘contacto estrecho’ conforme a la legislación local y que como consecuencia de ello deban ser aislados», se dispuso.
«La Comisión Médica de la Conmebol se reserva el derecho de solicitar información adicional y la sustitución estará sujeta a su aprobación final. En caso de confirmarse, este cambio será permanente y el jugador sustituido no podrá volver a participar de la competición», aclaró Conmebol.
