ARGENTINA NO SUPO IR POR MÁS Y UN ERROR EN EL FINAL LO DEJÓ SIN VICTORIA ANTE COLOMBIA
El seleccionado argentino de fútbol no pudo sostener la victoria ante Colombia y sobre el final, con un error enorme de Juan Foyth en la salida, empató 2-2 con Colombia en Barranquilla por la octava fecha de las Eliminatorias Sudamericanas.
Argentina logró la ventaja muy rápido con los tantos de Cristian Romero y Leandro Paredes en los primeros siete minutos del primer tiempo. Luis Muriel descontó de tiro penal para Colombia en el comienzo del segundo período y Miguel Borja selló la igualdad en la última jugada.
La igualdad dejó a la Argentina con 12 puntos en seis presentaciones. Se mantiene invicta, pero perdió sus primeros puntos como visitante luego del 2-1 ante Bolivia y el 2-0 frente a Perú.
Argentina aprovechó el respeto y la cautela que asumió el seleccionado colombiano con una formación equilibrada en demasía, que se quebró con los goles argentinos y los cambios posteriores.
El gol de cabeza de Romero, tras una buena ejecución de Rodrigo De Paul en un tiro libre, y la buena definición de Paredes pusieron a la Argentina en un contexto ideal a pesar de la humedad, el calor, la lluvia intermitente y el apoyo de los 10 mil colombianos autorizados en el estadio Metropolitano «Roberto Meléndez».
Después del 2-0, Argentina reguló, no fue por más y Colombia, con el ingreso de Luis Muriel, buscó emparejar el partido con más participación de Juan Cuadrado.
Argentina tuvo pinceladas de buen juego, en especial cuando Giovani Lo Celso apareció en escena, pero la sensación fue que dejó pasar una buena oportunidad con futbolistas de buen pie.
El partido cayó en un bache cuando Yerri Mina le cometió una infracción innecesaria al arquero Emiliano Martínez, quien se retiró en camilla y fue remplazado por Agustín Marchesín. Los primeros estudios que le realizaron no indicaron que haya tenido consecuencias importantes ese golpe.
Duvan Zapata, el único delantero desde el arranque del partido, de escasa participación, tuvo el descuento en el cierre de la primera etapa y Colombia encontró finalmente el descuento a través del penal que convirtió Muriel luego de una incomprensible infracción de Nicolás Otamendi a Borja.
Argentina se despertó con el descuento «cafetero» y se adelantó en el campo. Y si bien pudo haber convertido el tercero a través de un tiro libre ejecutado por Lionel Messi que atajó David Ospina y a falta de siete minutos el arquero colombiano volvió a lucirse ante el máximo goleador histórico argentino, nunca encontró juego.
Punto aparte es la negación que tiene Messi con el gol en el seleccionado. Dispuso de dos tiros libres controlados por Ospina y una ocasión muy clara en el mano a mano salvada por el arquero.
Scaloni desplegó una línea de cinco defensores ante el recambio colombiano con Borja, Edwin Cardona y Wilmar Barrios, pero ya sin el «Cuti» Romero, lesionado, quien cumplió otra actuación interesante más allá de su primer gol con la selección mayor.
En la previa se especuló que Argentina jugaría bajo el sistema 5-3-2 y eso solo ocurrió en el tramo final.
Foyth, fue uno de los centrales que se plantó en esa línea e intentó salir jugando en la última acción del partido: grave error. Su maniobra fue defectuosa y Colombia la aprovechó al máximo con la definición de Borja, de cabeza, que Agustín Marchesín no pudo desviar.
Argentina tuvo el partido a sus pies y no supo liquidarlo. Se llevó un punto en una cancha siempre difícil, pero el resultado se antoja como un castigo ante tantas opciones disponibles para quedarse con la victoria y, por qué no, construir una identidad. Leandro Paredes y Cristian Romero, amonestados por segunda vez, no podrán estar en la próxima
fecha ante Venezuela.
